「Snapchat」を手掛ける米Snapは4月26日（現地時間）、2016年9月に発表したカメラ付きサングラス「Spectacles」の新モデルを発表した。旧モデルより20ドル高い149.99ドル（約1万6000円）で、欧米の一部地域で5月3日にオンラインで発売する。
初代Spectaclesは、右レンズの縁にあるカメラでSnapchatでのみ共有できる30秒の動画を撮影するサングラス。新モデルは動画だけでなく、静止画も撮影できるようになった。
先代はSnapの株式公開発表と同時に披露され、2017年2月までなかなか入手できない販売方法で話題を呼んだが、今では数十万個の在庫を抱えていると報じられた。
